Top ten tuesday 2

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by Jamie over at The Broke and The Bookish. Today’s TTT are books that are set outside the US. I actually had a fun time looking up books that aren’t in the US. It makes me want to read some of them because the culture of some of these countries sounds truly magnificent.

1) The Falconer by Elizabeth May – set in Scotland

2) The Gilded Cage by Lucinda Gray – set in England

Love and Gelato sounds like such a great read. And Anna and the French Kiss is on so many lists this week! I definitely have to read that one 🙂

Haha, I noticed that about Anna too, which is good! It was a cute read and it felt like I was in Paris with her. It would be wonderful to go to Paris one day too, but alas I will picture them in my books.

Okay, so… out of this list, I only read one book: Anna and the French Kiss (a very enjoyable read). Wow, I should so read a book set in Japan (considering Japan is on the top of the top of the top of my list of places I want to visit one day).
Most of the books I read, now that I think about it, take place either in the U.S or a fantsy land. Interesting. It’s nice to change atmosphere from time to time though, isn”t it? (:

To be honest, I haven’t read most of these books either but I want to so bad, haha. It was really hard looking for some of them since I mostly read fantasy books too! One day, I will read all of these and some because I love reading about the different cultures of other countries. Thanks for stopping by!

I didn’t realize that the Daughter of Smoke and Bone series was set in Prague! I haven’t actually been particularly interested in reading it before this, but now that it has a more unique setting it’s piqued by interest. Great list!

Haha, oh yes this was a fun book to read. Plus the descriptions of the buildings and the food that was written was really interesting! I felt like I was there and I so wanted to be right there with the characters!

  4. Nereyda Gonzalez

I’ve only read Anna and the French Kiss but it’s one of my favorites. I really want to read Dangerous Girls and a few others from your list!

I started Dangerous Girls and it’s really good! I always love a good mystery that keeps me on my toes. I feel like this is going to be a great one. I must admit I haven’t read all the ones on my list, but I do hope to read them one day. 🙂

  5. Cassie @ Rants and Raves of a Bibliophile

Yay, I love that Anna is on so many people’s lists. And I NEED to read Love & Gelato; I love the cover so much! Awesome list, Stacie!

I have read quite a few of these either. I wanted to make a diverse list from all over the world and make things more interesting, haha. I will probably read all them at one point for sure. 🙂

  8. Amanda @ Vivalabooks

Wow I’m a little disappointed that I’ve only read 1 book on this list, Anna and the French Kiss, although I do own The Falconer. The cover of Love & Gelato is so cute, and it looks like a good summer read. Great list!

    • Stacie C

Aww, don’t feel bad! To be honest, a couple of these on the list haven’t even been published yet. I can’t wait to read them too! Thanks for stopping by! 🙂

  9. Eve

Daughter of Smoke & Bone and Anna made my list too! I also have had The Falconer on my wish list on Amazon for forever wanting to read it. Some great picks and I love the diverse lands!

    • Stacie C

Yay and thank you! I really wanted to put books from different countries not just England or France. Now there’s variety! I can’t wait to read The Falconer too. I heard a lot of good things about it. 🙂

  10. Jordan @ The Heart of a Book Blogger

The only book I’ve read on your list is Anna and the French Kiss! I actually just added The Darkest Hour to my TBR pile like yesterday and I’ve been wanting to read Love & Gelato. My favorite book is Code Name Verity, which takes in France and England!

Yay, glad you found a new book to read! The Darkest Hour looks really good and I’m excited to see that women have a little power, even if it is an alternate history haha. Thank you for stopping by! 🙂
