Happy New Year everyone!!
Wishing everyone an amazing 2015 with lots of love, happiness and reading of course.
This year I didn’t feel like going out into the NYC cold. So I stayed in and celebrated the New Year’s by dancing around my house with my furry babies and books “HAPPY NEW YEAR” ha-ha lol. Just the right way for a book nerd to bring in the new year isn’t it. Curling up in a comfy chair with a warm blanket and reading all night.
With every new year, comes the time to set new resolutions.
Which, if you ask me, most of us won’t even keep. Right? But this year I am determined to accomplish my list.
In my bookish life I’m going to make a few chances and to help me with that I joined the
✦Book Blogger Organization Challenge✦
There are no “rules” to follow. This is titled as a challenge, but it’s more of a way to consistently keep organized. The guidelines are simply this: follow the month’s theme and work on what you can. There is no “failing” in this challenge. If you’ve done anything to work on your blog, you’re a success!
–Brittany
This challenge is just right for me. Hopefully it will help me stay on track. So let’s get started with the first year’s challenge:
JANUARY: Reading challenges & resolutions, Picking challenges, making resolutions, scheduling, forming plans, picking reading/blogging buddies,
BOOKISH RESOLUTIONS
1st. Read at least 105 books
Yes, that’s right, I’m planing on reading at least 105 books 0_o lol.
If you look at my Goodreads challenges thru out the years. You’ll see that I haven’t even broken 50! Yup, I know! …and I want to read 105 this year? What am I thinking…. But I’m pretty determined to reach this goal and I’m going to try my hardest damn it lol.
2nd. Comment on More Blogs
I love to comment on blogs. I just don’t do it often.
I’m either busy and can’t comment at that moment. Forget or lost the post (I know I feel horrible). There’s so many great blogs out there. I love keeping up with everyone and finding out about other wonderful books that weren’t even on my radar. So this year I’m going to to blogs via email (bc, that the only way for me to keep track) and every time I receive an email. I will comment immediately if I love the post and I’m interested in it.
3rd. Reading Challenges
Reading challenges! Boy is there a ton to pick from huh?
I never joined a reading challenge before. But this year I decided to join with a little push from my friend Nori. I was a little unsure as I never, ever read passed 50 books before!
But Nori said.
“Why not!”
And so I joined, Thanks for the push Nori, I’m very excited as you can see:)
Challenges I’m joining this year.
✦Debut Author Challenge✦105 Reading Challenge✦You Read How Many Books?✦ ✦Flights of Fantasy✦
4th. Join a Book Club
I always wanted to join a book club, but never liked the books, ppl would read or I have been too shy to interact (trying to get over it) I want to change that and so this year I joined 2 groups ….
✦The Reader’s Lounge✦Ya Bookmark’s monthly book club ✦
✦Will be using the tag #YABrokenStars on twitter if you would like to join in ✦
5th. Setting Up Posts Ahead Of Time
I hate setting up a post at the last minute. (This one, was a last min post lol) I always end up forgetting or getting something wrong. Either a link doesn’t work or I missed spelled a whole bunch of words. (I’m a terrible speller. English isn’t my first language. I know not an excuse) I just want the time to research and get everything in order. I would love not to freak out or ran around the house like a loony!
6th. Be More Organized
This… This is my top issue. Sometimes I lose posts from other blogs that I wanted to read again or comment. I’m so not organized in this area, and I miss out on a lot because of it. I thru rss by www.feedly.com, Bloglovin and E-mail. But I hardly check anything but my E-mail. Whenever I see something I want to read/comment, I move it to a folder and save it for a later time. But the problem with that, is that the folder is over 100 posts lol. It’s very intimidating.
If only all my books and blog posts would organize them self like this huh.
✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦
And that’s that…
Ugh, did I just say 6 resolutions? Really?
Ok, ok how about 3 out of 6 that’s not bad right? Fine, fine…..lol
Let’s be realistic.
As much as we all want to accomplish all our resolutions/goals.. I know, I will probably won’t cross all of them out. Life can get pretty crazy sometimes. I mean between family, school, work and somewhat of a social life (cough 0_O) it can get pretty hectic.
But the whole point about resolutions is to set goals for yourself. If you don’t have any resolutions, what fun is that?
By setting resolutions you get to learn more about yourself and learn new things in the process.
I like the point of crossing things off my list of accomplishments. It makes me feel like I can do anything. Sometimes, I even set resolutions with rewards!! To give a little push to complete them.
So, when you cross that goal off your list. You can get to say
“Yes, I did it! I can reward myself with a truck full of books. “
lol, jk or maybe not ha-ha.
A New Year is here and it inspires people and gives them hope for a new beginning
So set your resolution/goals. Even if it’s just one small one. You’ll be glad you did.
“What’s your reading challenge this year?”
“Do you comment as often as you’ll like?”
“What reading challenges are you joining this year?”
“What book clubs have you joined this year?”
“Are you a last minute poster?”
“How do you organize your post?”
“What resolution/goals will you be setting for yourself this year?”
Let me know below and link up. I’ll make sure to leave you some comment love in return.
Have a Happy New Year!
xoxo
